April Wallpaper

Here's the April wallpaper for hubby. I'm pretty pleased with it, but I can never decide if I'm done with it or not.

Most Improved Player Award!

Congrats to Ollie who took home the Most Improved Player of the Year award for his team. We are super proud of him. Even more so when talking to the coach after the dinner and he said that anything and everything he had asked Ollie to do throughout the season he did. He said he had given him very specific roles to fill during the tournament and he did them perfectly. That's my boy! Love that kiddo!

Dinner was fantastic. The albums went over super good and I'm so glad I got them put together. This organization is really a class act and treats the kids wonderfully. I'm so happy to be a part of it.

Work to catch up on, Ollie and Mom night tonight as hubby is going out.... and then DESIGN time! Yayyyyy! Let's hope my mojo does me right. hehe

Woohoooooooo

Kodiak dinner is tonight. Not only will it be a fun evening, but it is truly the end of the fall/winter season for travel hockey! Yipppeeee ... yeah, I love it... but we need a break! LOL Super happy and ready to go now as I just finished the last of the three albums for the three top guys who run the organization. I put together albums with the team pictures from last year and this year. It was fun and I got to usepapers, scissors and glue ... FUN stuff! Reminds me that I miss paper scrapping sometimes. I have tons of supplies and am feeling the need to get them out and play.

So, it's off to the dinner with my two favorite boys. I get a week off next week and then we start tryouts for next fall's team. The high school dinner is that week also. Spring league and clinic start the week after that. Spring is a much lighter schedule though.

Ready to jump back into the design world. Not sure I'm going to be ready in time for April's Box of Dreams crop... but I'm working on it and we'll see.

Thanks for everyone who has stuck with me through all the craziness the past couple of months. It feels good to finally feel like a human again and not so down and uninspired.

Hugs to all!

Guess what I got???????

LOOK! An early B'Day present from hubby. I got a WIDE format Canon Pro9000 printer!

This is like the printer they were using at tournament last weekend at the professional photographers booth. I bought several prints of Ollie and they were spectacular! I really struggled with my old printer to get the team pictures printed out. This one is super slick, super fast and prints border to border on lots of different sizes. I just printed out an 11x17 to test it out and it looks fantastic! Just like it came from a photo shop instead of a home printer.

I'm in heaven!

p.s. The antibiotics are working and I'm feeling a whole lot better. Life is feeling good again.

Finally ...

Designed this for my part of the challenge kits at Digitals for April. It's not a lot, but a start...

Sick again ...

Yes, you read that correctly. I am sick AGAIN! I swear I just cannot catch a break lately. 2008 has been a rough year so far. I started feeling lousy on Thursday with a sore throat before we left for the tournament. All weekend I was sick, but managed to do what was necessary and attend everything. Went to the doctor yesterday and got antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection .... ears, sinuses and chest. Good news is the super sore throat is NOT Strep! Bad news is for the first time ever my blood pressure was high. Not just a little, but SUPER high. Doctor says it could be because of being sick again on top of having the flu recently. She wants me to come back for a recheck in 2 weeks before we worry too much about it. In the meantime, I can't take anything for the symptoms (she doesn't want me to raise my pressure any higher) ... so I'm kind of in limbo being miserable until the antibiotic starts to work. For once I was smart and bought Aciphidophilous at the same time as picking up that antibiotic. I certainly don't need more problems! LOL Cross your fingers and put me on your prayer list that this is a temporary thing with the blood pressure.

Need to make myself a list and get back into design stuff. I really want to be back on board with things in April. It's sneaking up on me fast!

Changed blog header and colors again. Just wasn't over the top with the last one. Guess I need to make some new headers so I can change when the urge approaches.

More news laters when I get more caught up ...

Tournament Bound ....

Heading out the door soon. Got tons done today being off work. I'm 6 pages into Ollie's brag book. Got over 1/2 the team pictures printed which will make my week much nicer when we get back. All packed up and ready to roll as soon as he's out of school. Hubby took today off too, was a nice thing even if I was running around like a crazy woman. Scoped out some good seafood restaurant possibilities for dinner tonight. Just syncing up the iPod while printing as many pictures as I can before leaving.

Hopefully we do well this weekend! Taking the laptop so I'll try to check in if I have time.

Go Kodiak!

Happy Humpy Day ...

Here's a brag book page I'm doing for Ollie. He got the opportunity to skate with the NJ Devils back in 2003 and the kid with him was able to get pictures of him with every player on the ice. This is the opening page. I'm going to try and keep it simple with a variation of 3 or 4 back ground papers and some various elements. He looks SOOO young in these pictures. I can't get over how much he has grown up. *sigh*

Running like crazy trying to get ready to leave for tournament tomorrow. Good thing is we aren't leaving until Ollie gets home from school and I'm off tomorrow. That gives me the morning to finish organizing and packing.

Taking the laptop with me to hopefully get pictures together for the JV team. They are putting together a slide show for the dinner.

Happy Humpy Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't she adorable???

Here's a quick page I was working on with my Rachel & Friends kit. Since I don't have girly pictures around my house, I have to borrow them from friends. DeDe had been kind enough to send me some adorable ones of her Beth a while back. Ends up this picture is perfect for the quick page.

Not sure what I'm doing with the quick page yet, I was just inspired to make it. This brings me to a question....

Do you prefer kits or quick pages, albums and brag books?

Looks like my mojo is making some appearance, but I'm sort of randomly working on different things. Not really back to being able to focus on a full kit. I'm just thrilled to be feeling creative at all though! Wooohooooo for me!

Happy Sunday ...

Just checking in with a quick post on a Sunday.

Yesterday hubby and I both struggled with not feeling well. This whole flu thing has really sapped my energy level in a bad way. Hubby is still fighting off the cough and being sick in general. However, we prevailed and managed to get up and moving when necessary. Ollie had a game in Danbury, CT. It poured rain and was super windy all the way there and back. One of the roads was flooded out and we ended up in a detour. Thank goodness for the GPS. I fall in love with my Garmin every time I have to go to a new rink! Good news, coach made it about 3 minutes before the start of the game. Better news, they won the game 7-2.

Today I'm feeling better. The sun is up and shining and I seemed to bounce out of bed and get moving right away. I've gotten several loads of laundry done, made homemade banana muffins and am doing some computer work right now. I need to get some programs re-installed on my laptop. Something happened at some point and everything on there seems to be running wonky. Also installed the new 1TB backup drive and now working on organizing our different drives and backups. While things are installing, backing up, etc. on both computers I'm working on editing the Kodiak hockey team pix. Go me... multi tasking! hehe

Sitting up here looking at my paper supplies in the organizers.... I'm feeling a huge urge to play in paper and do some paper scrapping. I sure don't have time for that... but then again the urge may win! LOL

Better get moving. Ollie has a game at 5:00 and I still need to get a lot done.

Happy Sunday!

On a roll ....

LOOK what I've been up to!

This is the beginnings of a flamingo kit from me using my dear and best friend DeDe's flamingo tearz (thank you DeDe!!!!). Be on the looking for lots of flamingo fun in this kit. Now it needs a name and lost more pieces. I'm totally psyched about this one! Ollie will love it since he loves flamingos so much!

Thursday, March 6, 2008

Not sure I'm done with this one. We'll see. It is however the beginnings of a kit. Not sure what I'm going to name it, but something after Papa. I have a hard time wrapping my head around doing a kit like this... not sure it would ever be done if that makes sense. So... I need a name and lots more pieces. Right?

A layout!

Here's a layout using pictures from Valentine's Day. I made hubby his favorite dinner and a huge heart shaped cookie. He treated me to beautiful flowers, a Gund bear with Godiva chocolate and a gorgeous necklace. It was truly a wonderful Valentine's Day this year!
Supplies used:
Background papers and ribbons created by me for the Very Valentine's Mega Kit at TSG.
Instamatic2 Layout Template from Scrap Girls.
Angelina Font

Just blogging along ...

Decided to do a new blog header and colors today. Looking for that spark to get the creative mojo going.

Team pictures went really well last night. I have a lot to choose from so each team should get a good one. Good news is everyone remembered their game jersey, shell and socks. I don't have to "change" anyone's socks in the photo this year. I have to get editing and printing. I have 108 pictures to print out between the five teams. It has to be done in time to get them in the frames before the dinner.
Look at Miss Kate, isn't she cute? She loves sitting on my legs and taking a nap in the evenings. Tonight we don't have any plans so I'll make a spot for her while watching Survivor! She's definitely my girl!

Getting more and more on top of things at work and super pleased about that. Better get back to it .....

March wallpaper ...

Here's the monthly wallpaper for hubby. Not over the top in love with this one, but I guess it's ok. This is a picture I scanned in of Tigger (hubby's cat for 19 years, she died in 1997). The photo was faded and had stuck to the glass in some spots. I did a little restorative work on it, but will do a better job on it for an "official" layout.

Lots going on around here. Still recovering from being sick, but truly making progress now. Tonight we have to go take team pictures for the travel team. I'll be editing and printing the pictures for all five teams. I need to have them done quickly so they can be put in the frames and ready for the dinner. This weekend we have 2 games and then next weekend is tournament. We'll be leaving for Delaware on Thursday after Ollie gets home from school and returning on Sunday. High school season is over. Varsity won the cup for our division, but lost in the state playoffs (2nd round). It was a huge upset and surprise. We were #1 seed and we lost to the 17th seed. They just didn't play the game well at all... not sure what happened but it was a sad day. Ollie is working super hard and already started back with his glice lessons and doing dryland training to get ready for next year. He's hoping to play varsity full time next season. Also, tryouts for travel hockey will be the first week of April, and spring hockey starts mid-April.

Trying to come up with a good idea for a gift basket for the high school dinner. They are looking for themed baskets for the tricky tray auction. My creative mojo is still hiding so not even good basket ideas are working for me. *sigh*

Off to get ready for work. Have a fabulous day!

The flu ....

I've battled with the flu and believe me... it WON! It's been through all three of us and Ollie is the only one fully recovered. Took him about 2 weeks start to finish to really feel 100%. Hubby and I are dragging, but slowly improving.

Work is better these days. I'm starting to really catch up on some things and getting in a much better routine and place.

Creatively, my MOJO is completely missing. Anyone seen it???? ;-P
