Where does the time go?

Enjoyed the long Memorial Day weekend here. Did some major yard work and gardening on Saturday and Monday. Sunday we took the day off and went to the shore and played. Went out to LBI (Long Beach Island, NJ) and climbed the lighthouse, browsed around and enjoyed the great weather. Had dinner at a FABULOUS restuarant that was recommended to us by a friend. Just ended up being a wonderful day and a nice weekend without the usual crazy running around.

Spent Tuesday and Wednesday with huge server problems at work. I spent two days being a server geek dudette along with bringing in my outside server geek dude.... we have now resolved the issues and everything is back up and running! Yayyyyy

Now it's catch up time.... huge piles of work on my desk to get done.....

Hope to be back soon if I don't get lost under the piles of paper! Maybe I'll even be back with pictures of our trip on Sunday.

Saturday blues ....

Day started out pretty good, but seemed to disintigrate on me. Why don't people realize that words can be the most hurtful weapon? Do I not have feelings, do I not get my feelings hurt when yelled at or belittled for something that's not really that important? I'm not perfect, never will be.... but I certainly try to take other people's feelings into consideration and treat them with respect and how I would want to be treated. Especially with those I love most.

This too shall pass.......... once my hurt feelings subside.

Trying hard not to sweat the small stuff.

Whew, it's been a busy week! It's raining cats and dogs here this morning, but it's good for the plants so I'm not really complaining except for the bad hair day part of it. This is when I really wish I could work from home.

I'm happy to report that the garden is in and all flowers and bulbs have been planted. I still have a little weeding to do here and there and I need to get some mulch for a couple of my flower beds and around the new trees. Our garden this year has tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers (green, orange and red), green beans, jalepeno peppers, celery and basil. Mmmm I can't wait for the wonderful fresh veggies. Hubby does such a great job with our vegetable garden and our plants always get much bigger than we anticipate each year. Here's a picture of Ollie standing next to our tomatoes last year about 1/2 through the season, so needless to say they ended up being even taller!

Been working on TSG's June Club Kit with DeDe this week. Trying to catch up on some obligation stuff and still get working on something for June's Box of Dreams crop. The month is flying by on me! I would love to have more time to design, but I'll take and enjoy whatever time I can get.

Not much else going on. Ollie has a game on Saturday, clinic on Sunday morning and a game Sunday afternoon.

I'm going to try to get back here and post again, but just in case ... I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Hope everyone is having a fantastic Friday. Even though it's raining here, I'm having a pretty good day and happy it's the weekend. Besides, Mother Nature is giving all the pretty trees and flowers a good drink of water. Of course I'm hearing that she might be overwatering us with at least 2 inches. Busy weekend ... Hubby has to work part of Saturday and Ollie has a game in the late afternoon. Sunday he has clinic in the morning and a game in the afternoon.

Seriously!

Where did this week go? How can it possibly be Thursday already? It's been crazy busy at work and I guess the week is just flying by and I feel so far behind in everything right now.

Here are pictures I took of the two new trees and of the hockey statue with the azaleas starting to bloom. It's been raining this morning so everything is getting a good drink from Mother Nature. I still have quite bit of gardening stuff to get done, but I'm getting there. Inside the house is a totally different story though!

Which version of each photo do you like better? I've been playing around with some photo editing.

Need to make a new to do list and see what needs to be tackled first. Need some serious design time to play.

Happy Monday ...

Great weekend, went way too fast and didn't have near enough time to accomplish the things I wanted to accomplish. Never enough time in the day is there? LOL

My trees arrived on Saturday and the guys came and "installed" them on Sunday morning. They were supposed to show up at 9:00, but were super early and arrived at 8:20. There were 3 guys, they did everything by hand and had those trees in super fast. I think it took them less than 45 minutes all said and done. AMAZING! They look wonderful (pictures to come soon) and I'm so excited about them. I can even see the cherry tree from my chair in the living room. Gotta love that! What a fabulous Mother's Day gift that I'll cherish forever!

Ollie had great games this weekend. He scored and had an assist on Saturday. Didn't score on Sunday, but played an outstanding game and had a couple of break aways. He's really been working hard lately and we are very proud of him.

Finally sat down last night and worked on May wallpaper for hubby. I wanted to use my new Fresh Meadow kit and ended up being pleased with the end result.

I used a photo of Miss Kate sleeping on my lap. Isn't she just the sweetest?

A Weeping Red Bud Lavender Twist

AND a Kwanzan Japanese Cherry Tree

The Lavender Twist is probably about 5 or 6 feet tall and won't get a lot taller, but will get wider and branch out more. The Kwanzan Cherry is probably already 7 to 8 feet tall and will grow up to 30 feet tall if allowed. We have to call tomorrow to see when the guys can "install" them. The nursery will delivery them earlier in the day when they are to be planted.

I'm SOOOOO excited! We have to decide the exact placement of them, but we have a couple of good ideas. This is my Mother's Day present and then some! I'll take pictures as soon as they arrive and are "installed". The great news is they are in bloom now so if they are put in this week, I'll actually get to enjoy the blooms a little this year. Wooohooooooooooooooooooo

Woohoooo it's Friday. Hoping for a laid back day in the office where I can catch some things up and get ready for the weekend. I have lots to get done. Time to start putting the heavy winter stuff away and dragging the summer stuff out. We had a super cute bird house the past couple of years, but it was coming apart and the wood for the house part itself was rotting. Ollie and hubby built a new one this week and I got paint for it yesterday. They took the cute cat piece off the front and put it on the new house. Need to get a coat or two of paint on the main part of the house, hubby is going to put real shingles on it and then get it out there for the birds. Hoping we'll get a finch family like we did last year.

Ollie has a game on Saturday, clinic and a game on Sunday. They are calling for chilly and rainy, but I'm hoping for some warmer and sunny weather so I can get back out in the yard and get some stuff planted.
