Vacation time .....

Time flies when you're running around trying to get everything in order for vacation!  Everything is packed, my desk is clean, the house/cat sitter is all set up and we hit the road this afternoon.  I'm so excited to get away, especially to the beach for lots of fun and relaxation.

MIA ...

Yup... I'm definitely MIA.

It's been busy lately and my sad neglected blog has been at the bottom of the list. Seems it's taken a hit along with the missing creative mojo.

Cousin Sarah was here visiting for almost 2 weeks. We did lots of day trips and sent her home with tons and tons of pictures. She and Ollie got along really well and I think will always be close friends now that they got a chance to get to know each other. She left on Sunday and it's been a busy week at work trying to catch up and getting some things done at home.

Tomorrow we leave for Hershey after Ollie's 6:00 a.m. clinic. We have tickets to see Nickelback at Hershey Stadium tomorrow night and I'm super excited about it! We are staying in Hershey for the weekend but not going to the amusement park this time. Instead we are going to Gettysburg on Saturday and Valley Forge on the way home on Sunday. Ollie loves history so he's over the top excited about the weekend plans.

Garden is finally starting to come in. We have cucumbers, jalepeno peppers, basil and dill. The tomatoes are late but there's going to be tons when they start to ripen. The orange and green bell pepper plants are getting big and blooming like crazy. The lima beans are finally starting to flower. Some of my flowers (the roses especially) really took a beating with all the rain we had and the super cool nights. I think now that it's getting hot everything is starting to recover now.

Not sure what the rest of the summer will hold or if we'll do any more weekend trips.

Stay tuned for a Christmas in July event and blog train starting at the end of next week. Not sure what I'm doing for the blog train yet, but I'll figure it out.

Birthday Blog Blowout ~ Day 7

Today I'm just showing you randomly some of my favorite kits. Freedom Rings is so perfect for summer, stars and of course those 4th of July layouts. Avocado Spice, Fresh Meadow and Misty Morning were all started with a palette that I liked and the papers and elements just evolved as I played with the colors. Seahorse Dreams came about because of a picture I had of Leafy Sea Dragon and I made a silver seahorse paperclip to go on my layout. Next thing I knew, I was making papers and other elements. Birthday Blog Blowout ~ Day 2

Do you love all the different shaped and hybrid albums out right now? I sure love them! They are tons of fun to put together and are so versatile. I love that you can use them for hybrid albums or on a larger scrapbook page. I think I'm going to put together some of my bracket albums on 6x6 or 8x8 pages. I think the bracket frame would look really nice on a coordinating cardstock, or against white to make it really stand out. Have you see my hybrid albums? I've only done two so far (well in addition to the one you are collecting pieces from), but I love doing them and am hoping to do some from existing kits as well as with new kits.

Here you can see my Freedom Rings Cosmo Cricket Abby Album and my Shades of Summer Bright Bracket Album. I think there are so many uses for these albums whether you use them for hybrid or on pages for part of a larger layout. I recently purchased some blank albums and word albums to try my hand a hybrid. I was a paper scrapper before going digital and there was always some sort of digital elements to my paper pages, whether it was titles, labels or journaling. Hmmmm I guess in a way that makes me an OLD hybrid scrapper! LOL
