Balance ....

It's definitely time to revisit my word for this year. Right now I'm really struggling with balance again. So I'm reposting my WordArt for my word to remind myself to step back, breath and get back into a better groove.

Someone asked the first time I posted this if I would share the WordArt. You can download Balance here.

This coordinates with my New Year Jewels kit which you can find here.

You can pick it up for 50% off through the end of this month. I'm thinking about retiring some of my older kits soon and this is one of them. Grab it while you can.
I'm still struggling hard with the creative mojo. It just doesn't seem to be there right now and I can't seem to narrow my focus on it. I guess for the moment I'm going to keep plugging away at it while working on my balance.
It's been a crazy busy week and there is so much going on. I'll share more about it later in a different post.
Now off to work on that balance!

TGIF!!!!!

It's been rainy off and on this week, so not much got done outside. Last weekend I discovered that we have had a visitor in the yard that ate most of the lima bean plants, ALL my sunflowers, stripped the leaves off all my Blacked Eyed Susies and several other perrenials. How devestating, I was so looking forward to the beautiful sunflowers. We went on Sunday to one of my favorite nurserys and I came home with 5 new Black Eyed Susie plants, 3 Shasta Daisies, 2 Wand Flowers, a gorgeous orangish/yellowish climbing rose bush and 3 Double Dianthus (looks like mini carnations). Needless to say, I now need to get all of these in the ground once the rain stops. The rose bush will go where another one is being taken out so Don will be sooooo happy to help me move the one and then plant the new one. LOL We did get a trellis for the new one so I'm excited about that too. I replanted tons of sunflower seeds and am hoping that it's not too late and we'll still get some.

Here are a few rose pictures I took a week or so ago. I have more that I haven't downloaded off the camera yet.

Hopefully this weekend I'll get my planting done and Don will get the new border for the garden done. Then we have to get the back yard leveled out and grass replanted where we've leveled it. It's going to be super nice back there once we're done. Guess we better get the front yard mowed, edged, etc. With all the rain it's totally out of control.
Ollie has a game late Saturday afternoon and clinic on Sunday morning so the hockey just keeps rolling along through the weekends. Just got the high school schedule for the summer and he'll be on the ice every Sunday, Tuesday and a Varsity Scrimmage on Thursdays.
Still working on design stuff, but not seeming to be able to work on one kit and finish it. Maybe my creative mojo has moved on and isn't coming back. Who knows? I know I need to get back to scrapping more of my own pictures, I'm woefully behind!
Enough rambling from me.... have a great weekend!

June Wallpaper

I did June's wallpaper with photos from last years vacation in Myrtle Beach. I'm going to miss going there for vacation this year! We aren't actually taking a big vacation this year. Hoping we'll take some longs weekends.

Supplies are from my Shades of Summer Light kit.

June 2009 ~ Scraplift Challenge

Join me at Digitals for this month's scraplift challenge! You can find the thread here.
----------

Fabulous response to last months challenge! This is such a fun challenge to run, everyone is so creative and I love all the different takes on the layouts each month.

This month I chose a layout entitled "Fifty Nifty United States" by msghd. I'm always partial when I see great layouts with my kits, but I especially love all the layering on this layout. With the colors and gorgeous photo, I'm really loving this layout. I can see lots of fun options with a scraplift on this one.

You can find this layout here. You can also find her gallery here. You will find tons of inspiration in her gallery, I know I see many layouts I'd like to take time and scraplift. I hope you can find some inspiration in this layout to scraplift.

Be sure to include at least three items by Digitals designers in your layout to be eligible for the prize. When you've completed your layout, post it to the Scraplift Gallery, then come back and post a link to your page to this thread. This gives us all a chance to oooh and aaah over your layout. It will also help me to make sure that I don't miss sending out anyone's posting bonus.

Here is a preview of your prize this month.

Have fun and I can't wait to see what you do with this challenge!

It's Humpy Day ...

The folks were here last week so I spent time visiting with them. It had been quite a while since they had visited so it was nice to see them and catch up. I kept meaning to take a picture of their big rig parked in front of my house, but wouldn't you know that I forgot!

Don finally decided this year that we would put some sort of border on the vegetable garden. This is great because keeping the yard from invading the garden is always a problem. Not to mention that the garden is higher than the yard and I've been known to twist my ankle on the in between part more than once! Anyhow, he decided that he should also put the same type border on my rose garden instead of the one that was there so that they would match. Sunday we went and got enough wood to do both. Monday he was able to get the rose bed done. I really like this border better. You will only see the top two logs once he backfills in. The garden will be 4 logs high instead of the three. I can't wait to see how great it is going to look! Once he is done with the borders, he is going to level out the backyard some and we'll plant some grass seed.

I finished planting all my little seedlings (I started a bunch of sunflower and sweet pea seeds in little peat pots a few weeks ago). I can't believe how good they are doing already. If they thrive over the summer, I'm going to try starting a lot more stuff from seed next year. I'll also start earlier inside so they are ready to plant outside as soon as the weather gets warm next year. My flower beds are really starting to bloom and look beautiful. I really really enjoy them!
I'm working on several kits simultaneously right now. I can't seem to focus on just one, so I've been working on whatever inspires me instead of trying to force creativity on one. I guess than means maybe I'll have a whole bunch of new stuff all at once. I'm also thinking about bundling some of my current kits with their matching alphas and albums at a reduced cost if you buy the bundle.
I need to get working on a June wallpaper for Don. Not sure what I'm going to do for this one. Maybe something from our Myrtle Beach pictures from last summer. I'm a little sad that we won't be going this year.
Keep your eyes open, I'm working on a blog freebie. Hopefully by the end of the week.
