Peggy's Rose Coming Soon ....

I have a new kit coming to the stores this week. It's a custom kit that I did for a very sweet lady who won a posting contest I held a while back. It was a slow start on this kit and then suddenly last week it all came together in a big way. I'm really proud of how this turned out.

Here are the previews which were done by the fabulous and amazing Vickie! She never ceases to amaze me with how beautiful she manages to make my designs look. Thank you my dear friend!

Also added in my stores last night is the Pajama Party Add-On Mini Kit. A great add-on for the full size Pajama Party kit or alpha.

As you can see from my post below, I spent time gardening this past weekend. Everything is in the ground and growing now. Hubby got the garden in also. I can't wait for fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and green peppers. I also have basil planted and it's ready to go whenever I need some. All these pictures are from my flowers gardens, and there are sooo many more! In addition to the fresh vegetables growing, we have berries on the way too. Look at this picture!

We also have a new baby bird in the bird house. Not sure what kind they are, they are really tiny, I think they might be a type of finch. Sparrows make these tiny birds look big. Anyhow, there's one baby that I can see in the nest. Here's a picture of their fun house:

I love NATURE!

Did I mention ...

That I love NATURE? I know I blogged about this last week, but I have to tell you how much I truly love this time of year even though my allergies are completely and totally out of control. Saturday morning we went to breakfast, to the hockey store for a new bag for Ollie and to the nursery to look for another hanging basket that Ollie had wanted to get me for Mother's Day. I ended up with two hanging baskets, 3 new perrineals and two clematis vines. Hubby and I eyeball the clematis every year saying we should get some. So we finally bought two of the vines and a very cool planter that has a bottom planter pot with a tall pyramid shaped rod iron type cage for the vine to run up and around. We got a reddish pink color and a deep purple one. Pictures to come when we get them planted and settled. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very cooperative and we had a busy weekend so I didn't get any "play in the dirt" time. I'm hoping to make up for that this afternoon and tonight.

Finished up my part of the June mega kit at Digi Scrap Shak and my part of the June challenges at Digitals. Neither palette was my usual comfort zone of colors, however I'm very pleased with the results.

Busy busy busy at work with no extra time for anything these days. Hoping to get some design time in tonight after playing outside, we'll see what time I come inside. Not sure what kind of kit I want to do next (not that I don't have several started... hehe). Any requestions, suggestions? :-)

Back to work......

New Monogram Kit ...

Heading into the stores is my new Dream Your Own Monogram for Summer. These monogram kits are FUN FUN FUN to make! This one could be used for so many things, another good thing is that it coordinates with my Shades of Summer Bright kit.

Feeling very behind in some areas, but worked hard yesterday to try and get some handle on things. Weekend is busy, but not too crazy busy. We have errands tonight, Ollie has a game tomorrow evening, one on Sunday afternoon and a practice Sunday evening. Weather here is yucky, cold and a little rainy today. Not very good for getting out and planting yet. Hopefully this weekend I'll get to "play in the dirt". Oh and we do need groceries if we want to continue to eat in my house! LOL

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

This layout is using pieces I'm working on for a hockey kit. There are so many hockey things I want to create, it's hard for me to figure out how to harness into a kit, or kits.

Nature ....

Oh how I love nature! I sure hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. I took the weekend away from the computer and spent time with my family and nature. Actually Ollie had games Friday night and Saturday night. Saturday during the day I worked around the house on routine chores with the windows wide open. Wanted to get out in the yard, but the boys wouldn't let me in the back. LOL

Sunday morning they let me go out back to see three lovely hanging baskets and several flats of summer flowers. Wooohoooo time to play in the dirt. If you say yuck to that statement I highly encourage you to go out and play in the dirt with an open mind and see how you feel afterwards. For me it's refreshing and renewing. I spent Sunday cleaning out flower beds, trimming back dead branches on the roses, crepe myrtles, azaleas and rhodies. The up and down weather with that last ice storm was particularly hard on some of my stuff. I lost 4, possibly 5, rose bushes a lot of azalea branches but they are blooming beautifully. The rhodies look really awful but I'm not going to do much trimming on them until they bloom and I can see how bad the damage is. Regardless, being outside, catching some rays, digging in the dirt and cleaning up the beds is so rewarding. I am very sore after all that, but in the long run it feels so worth it. Did a little yesterday and am ready to start putting my new plants in the ground. I also have some columbine and dahlias that need to be planted too as well as two aster and two mums that need to be moved. Now if only I didn't have to go to work!

Bad side of the gorgeous weather and nature ..... ALLERGIES! Nuff said! LOL

Checking In ....

Goodness, where does the time go? Our weekend was crazy busy and I can't believe it's Wednesday already. The weather is getting beautiful here finally and I'm anxious to get outside and "play in the dirt". My flowerbeds are in need of a clean up and I'm always looking to plant more flowers. I think I lost about 4 rose bushes due to the crazy weather we had late winter/early spring. It just got warm and freezing too many times. Now how to talk hubby into more rose bushes! LOL Here is a picture of my rose bed last May. It will still be a couple of weeks yet before I start seeing any roses. Everything here is blooming late.

Here is an up close shot at a couple of my favorite ones from last spring.

Great Crop and TGIF!

WOW! Great crop last night. We had a great group of ladies and it was a lot of fun. Information about how we'll run the crops was given out. The short story is that there will be weekly challenges each month. Each challenge completed earns you pieces of a small kit. Complete all four challenges and attend the crop and you'll receive the whole kit and might even walk away with a bonus for being a part of the "Box of Dreams Club"! Challenges will be posted on Thursdays here, your layout should be posted here and then a link in the current weeks challenge so that we know it's there and can leave some love. This months challenges are sketches. Here is May Challenge #1:

This layout is my take on the sketch. You can find it at TSG here if you want to leave some love.
Don't forget to stop by Diann's blog as she posted brads for a crop freebie last night. They coordinate with the kit and the buttons she put on there the other day.

Hope to see everyone tonight!

Please come join me ...

Please come join me and my Dream Team for our first crop at The Scrapping Garden on Thursday, May 3rd, 9:00 p.m. EST. I am starting a new series called Box of Dreams and we are excited to pair it with weekly challenges each month. This month it's a belated birthday party for me and a chance to introduce ourselves. We will be using sketches for our first month of challenges. There will be a fun sketch challenge each week and completion and posting of each challenge will earn you a piece of a mini kit that my fabulous Dream Team member Raylene Brooks put together. What kind of kit you ask???? Why a BIRTHDAY KIT of course!

Just for fun, I've made some birthday candles for you to start the celebration. They coordinate with the colors of the kit. You never know when you'll see more pieces pop up, I believe that Diann is working on a special blog surprise too! hehe You can download the candles here.

Here is a sneak peek at the preview for the birthday kit by Raylene. I hope you'll come join us for lots of laughs and scrapping!

p.s. A huge thanks to Raylene for working so hard on the kit and to Diann for making the main part of the ad above. I truly couldn't do this without them and the rest of my CT!
Whew, where does the time go? I've been taking a bit of a step back lately and trying to spend more time with my family. This past weekend I had the computer on very little and didn't even check my e-mail all day Sunday. I'm striving for a good balance with everything and am feeling less stressed as a result. I mean what is the hurry to design design design? I'd rather make sure I'm putting out quality designs and enjoying what I'm doing. Right?

Working on the ad for my crop on Thursday and will post in a bit.

Hugs to all!
