Polar Express Blog Train ~ Day 11

It's Day 11 of the Polar Express Blog Train! I can't believe we are almost at the end of our trip.

Don't forget that Dreamy was in here the other day being mischevious and handing out coupons! Hope you enjoy the extra special savings. I do enjoy all the wonderful comments that are being left!

Have you ever needed a special kit and just couldn't find exactly the right one for what you needed. Or have you ever had an idea for a kit and wanted someone who designs to put it together for you? I've enjoyed the opportunity to do two different custom kits for just those type situations. Each one was a prize for a challenge I held and I found out through doing them that I really enjoy doing some custom stuff. Rachel & Friends was for a wonderful lady whose daughter, Rachel, has two best friends that are boys. Of course Rachel likes to be girlie sometimes, but super girlie kits don't work well for the photos of her and her two best friends. Lots of bright colors later, a kit was born for Rachel & Friends. I had so much fun with it that I added the alpha later on. Peggy's Rose was for a wonderful lady (Peggy) who had recently lost her father. One memory of her father was lavendar roses, armed with that image and some ideas from her I was off and running and Peggy's Rose was born. I used a photo of a rose from my garden as the stepping stone. Again, I enjoyed the kit so much that I added an alpha in two colors later on. This kit reminds me a lot of my grandmother and I've used it on several layouts for her 80th birthday party.

Don't forget that these are all on sale for 25% during the Christmas in July event. Coupled with that coupon that Dreamy gave out, you could end up saving 50%!

Now on to today's offering:

I'm sorry this link has expired, but don't despair ... the entire Retro Christmas Cosmo Cricket Jack Album will be in my store after the Polar Express has made it's final stop.

FUN CROP!

FANTASTIC, FABULOUS, WONDERFUL crop last night ladies! I want to thank you all for coming back to the crop after my leave of absence. Everyone at TSG is just the best! For those of you who didn't make it, we had a great time. The chatting and giggles were fast and furious! hehe Hope we'll see even more people there next month.

The challenge this month is to use my Rachel & Friends kit (on sale for only $2.00 through April 15th) and the template to create a layout.

You can twist, turn, whatever you want to the template. Remember templates are likes sketches... they provide a basis for the start of the layout but do not have to be a strict guideline. Post your layout to the Box of Dreams Gallery and then a link back to the recap thread so that we can ooohhh and aaahhhh over your layout. Also so that I can keep track of who completes the challenge. There will be a super fun add on alpha and stickit for all who complete the challenge.

You can still participate in the challenge even if you didn't attend the crop. You can download the template here. I can't wait to see the layouts!

Happy Sunday ...

Just checking in with a quick post on a Sunday.

Yesterday hubby and I both struggled with not feeling well. This whole flu thing has really sapped my energy level in a bad way. Hubby is still fighting off the cough and being sick in general. However, we prevailed and managed to get up and moving when necessary. Ollie had a game in Danbury, CT. It poured rain and was super windy all the way there and back. One of the roads was flooded out and we ended up in a detour. Thank goodness for the GPS. I fall in love with my Garmin every time I have to go to a new rink! Good news, coach made it about 3 minutes before the start of the game. Better news, they won the game 7-2.

Today I'm feeling better. The sun is up and shining and I seemed to bounce out of bed and get moving right away. I've gotten several loads of laundry done, made homemade banana muffins and am doing some computer work right now. I need to get some programs re-installed on my laptop. Something happened at some point and everything on there seems to be running wonky. Also installed the new 1TB backup drive and now working on organizing our different drives and backups. While things are installing, backing up, etc. on both computers I'm working on editing the Kodiak hockey team pix. Go me... multi tasking! hehe

Sitting up here looking at my paper supplies in the organizers.... I'm feeling a huge urge to play in paper and do some paper scrapping. I sure don't have time for that... but then again the urge may win! LOL

Better get moving. Ollie has a game at 5:00 and I still need to get a lot done.

Happy Sunday!
